After over a decade in business, it appears Fetty Wap and RGF Productions are ending their partnership. The Jersey rapper announced in a statement some major changes happening with regards to his music.
What Did Fetty Wap Say In His Statement
On Tuesday, (April 21st), the “Trap Queen” rapper explained his decision making regarding the amicable split.
“This moment represents more than a release; it’s a realignment,” he said in a statement. “I’m very grateful and appreciative for everything that brought me here, but now I’m focused on building what’s next, on my terms and under my control.”
Fetty Wap initially blew up under RGF, and independent record label in New Jersey with Billboard charting hits such as “Trap Queen,” “679,” “My Way,” and more.
However, over the last few years, reportedly tensions have rose between the rapper and the label over money and other disputes. This decision comes off the heels of Fetty dropping Zavier, his first album since getting released from prison.
