Ma$e is prepared to release his first album in over 20 years in alignment with one of the more anticipated trials in hip-hop history.

The former Bad Boy rapper shared the news while listening to some of the tracks during the latest episode of It Is What It Is.

“I’m listening to the songs that [Cam’ron] picked out of the stuff I made … It’s gonna be crazy,” Ma$e told co-hosts Maurice Clarett and Treasure Wilson. “We had to pick the right records. I let him pick the right records.”

Clarett inquired about the project’s potential release date, so Ma$e stated it would be available at the beginning of former Bad Boy CEO Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex-trafficking case.

“May 25th. The first day of the Diddy trial. We’re dropping,” he said facetiously. “You like that? You made me put it out there.”

It’s worth noting that Diddy’s trial is actually scheduled to begin on May 5.

No Love Lost From Ma$e Towards Former Employer

Making a long-awaited return to music to coincide with Diddy’s trial would not be Ma$e’s first petty move regarding his former label boss’ extensive legal problems.

When Puffy’s homes were raided by federal agents last year, the Harlem World hitmaker joked that, “Reparations is getting closer and closer!” during an episode of his sports show.

In 2020, Mase accused Combs of ripping artists off who signed with Bad Boy Records in an Instagram post.

“Your past business practices knowingly has continued purposely starved your artists and been extremely unfair to the very same artists that helped (you) obtain that Icon Award on the iconic Bad Boy label,” Ma$e wrote in the since-deleted post.
