After a long hiatus, Drake finally dropped his highly anticipated ninth studio album, Iceman. And with so much to address on his new project, the Grammy winner did not leave any stones unturned. Here’s a list of everyone who caught a stray on Drizzy’s new project
Drake Calls Out LeBron James
On a new track titled 1 am in Albany, Drake appears to take issue with LeBron’s attendance. At Kendrick Lamar’s 2024 Pop Out Concert at the LA Forum.
“I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena. Because you always made your career off of switching teams up,” Drake raps on the track.
Drake Blasts DJ Khaled
On one of Drake’s new tracks titled Make Them Pay, he calls out famed producer, DJ Khaled. For his silence during his 2024 feud with Kendrick Lamar. And the current war between Israel and Palestine.
“And, Khaled, you know what I mean. The beef was fully live, you went halal, and got on your deen. And your people are still waitin’ for a free Palestine, but apparently everything isn’t black and white and red and green, damn I’m seein’ everyone’s true colors, for real, I’m sensin’ a theme,” he raps on the song.
A$AP Rocky & Rihanna
On one of the tracks on the new project titled Burning Bridges, Drake calls out Rihanna. Over her lack of support for Rocky’s fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb, which he released in January.
“Your baby momma ain’t even post a single, damn, where she at?” he raps on the track.
He also calls out Rocky for trying to peace things up through a conversation with one of his close cohorts. But says that the Harlem native changed course when it was time for him to drop his new project. Appearing to accuse the rapper of clout chasing.
“You saw my brother, you were tryna fix it, now you drop your album and you back dissing,” Drake. adds
Drake Clowns Rick Ross
On Make Them Pay, Drake calls out Rozay. And doubles down on his past claim that much of Ross’ career success has come from songs that he was featured on.
“I am pressin’ everything. I’ll get impressive on n**** I have problems with people whom I would’ve never dreamed of. And that’s draggin’ people in who don’t wanna get in between. Dog, I was aidin’ Ross with streams before Adin Ross had ever streamed,” he raps on the track.
Jay-Z
The first instance where Drake calls out Jay-Z is on his new track Janice STFU which debuted in the Iceman Episode 4. So the song he raps: “You boys got big on my name, that’s big enough…we know how you OGs rocking already my n- the jig is up.”
Jigga man is one of Jay-Z’s nicknames.
The second instance is on the album’s third track Whisper My Name. Where he raps: “I’ll take $500K, not the dinner, I never could learn sh*t from none of y’all.”
Appearing to reference the popular social media conversation where users are asked to choose between $500k and dinner with Jay-Z.
Joe Budden
On Drake’s new track 1 Am In Albany, Drizzy appears to insinuate that he slept with Budden’s girlfriend. And also references his January 2024 arrest for indecent exposure.
“I watched this guy spasm with a puzzled face. Who knows which one of his bubble-shaped things I must’ve ushered through the double gates? Showed her the time of her life while broski having stomach aches, hearing bout good times at lovers lake and send her back to you while you sleep walking naked in another state,” he raps on the song.
J.Cole
On the Iceman track, 1 AM in Albany Drake appears to address J. Cole’s role in his 2024 feud with Kendrick Lamar and how he bowed out.
“I could have fallen back like the married rapper, but we engaged. I told you I’m stuck in my evil ways,” he raps on the track.
Kendrick Lamar
On his track, 1 Am in Albany, Drake appears to call out Lamar. And insists that he is still the top guy in hip-hop, despite losing their highly-publicized 2024 feud.
“To be the number one, you gotta lead the way, and to hold something over my head forever, you’re still a couple feet away,” he raps on the track.
