Earlier this month, the sexual assault against Roc Nation founder, Sean Carter, better known as rapper Jay-Z, was officially dismissed. Following the dismissal of the case, Tony Buzzbee, the famed celeb attorney who was the prosecutor, has been disbarred from practicing law in New York.

“His lawsuit against Jay-Z is dismissed and not coming back. And now Tony Buzbee is trying to ensure he can keep litigating his other lawsuits against Diddy. Because his admission application in the Southern District of New York was denied,” court reporter Meghann Cunniff revealed on February 24.
Jay-Z Says Court Case Cost Roc Nation $20 Million
It s good news for the Brooklyn-born artist that the case was dismissed. However, the side effects are lingering, despite a non-guilty verdict. Jay-Z says the process of fighting the complaint cost him north of $20 million.
“Immediately after Mr. Buzbee went public with his false accusations, my company Roc Nation also lost other contracts. In the sports and entertainment space that would have generated revenues of approximately $20 million per year,” the court document reads.
In the document, the rap star also states that the complaint “undermined Roc Nation’s relationship,” with several other businesses. He also notes that after the plaintiff’s lawyer, Tony Buzzbee, officially filed the complaint several companies considered severing ties with Roc Nation.
“Mr. Buzbee’s actions undermined my relationship, and my company Roc Nation’s relationship. With other businesses in the sports and entertainment space,” the document adds.
“We have agreements to produce entertainment programs for certain sporting events. After Mr. Buzbee filed the lawsuit, the media reported that other businesses could end their deals with Roc Nation. And forced one to speak out and address whether these false allegations would end our business relationship.”
Jay-Z was not the only hip-hop megastar under fire in this case. So was Bad Boy founder, Diddy. The suit by Jane Doe alleged that both Jay-Z and Diddy were part of an assault that occurred when she was only 16.
With Diddy still waiting for his federal trafficking case to begin in May, his attorneys say the dismissal of the case filed by Jane Doe, is a sign of more things to come.
“Just like this claim, the others will fall apart because there is no truth to them. Sean Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor,” Combs’ attorneys said in a statement.
