Lil Wayne to Host Show at Madison Square Garden

That won’t be the only major move that Lil Wayne will be making that day. The rap star will also be hosting a concert at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden.

The rap star announced the concert via his social media page on April 22.

Tickets will go on sale on April 25.

Many were hopeful that despite being slighted as the Super Bowl performer this year, Lil Wayne would join Kendrick Lamar on stage during the halftime show. But that was not the case. But some remained hopeful that Weezy would one day be the headliner. However, after being snubbed in 2025, Weezy says he was no longer interested in performing at the event.

“They stole that feeling,” he told Rolling Stone. “I don’t want to do it. It was perfect

Rap star Kendrick Lamar headlined the Super Bowl in New Orleans on February 9. It came in the wake of him having one of the hottest winning streaks of his career. At the 2025 Grammy Awards, Kendrick cleaned up, collecting five awards for his 2024 hit single “Not Like Us.”

With him being the MVP of hip-hop this year, Lamar being the headliner in New Orleans appeared to be a no-brainer.

Still, Lil Wayne said it “hurt,” that he wasn’t selected to be the headliner in New Orleans.

“It hurt a whole lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for automatically mentally putting myself in that position as somebody told me that was my position. But I thought there was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt,” Weezy said after Lamar was announced as the performer.
