Young Thug is officially back in album mode. After months of speculation, shifting dates, and cryptic teases, the Atlanta rapper is gearing up to release UY Scuti — his first full-length project since getting out of jail last year.

Thug has played it coy with the rollout, keeping fans guessing with a mix of hints and misdirection. Last month, he sparked buzz with mysterious UY Scuti billboards in Coachella Valley, hinting at a May drop. Even earlier, longtime girlfriend Mariah the Scientist seemed to let the cat out of the bag by commenting a potential release date on one of his Instagram posts.
Now, the promo campaign is taking an unexpected turn — and it’s not for the faint of heart.
Thug Sends Media Members a Living Spider
Ahead of the album’s release, select members of the press received a bizarre package: a glass terrarium containing a live tarantula. Attached to the dome was a message that read: “Take care of me until we reach UY SCUTI.” Yep, Thugger sent spiders to the media to build anticipation.
But creepy crawlies aren’t the only thing making noise.
On April 25, Young Thug teamed up with fellow Atlanta titan Future for “Money on Money,” the first single off UY Scuti. The track marks his return to music following his release from jail, which came after accepting a plea deal in the high-profile YSL RICO case.
Lyrically, Thug wastes no time addressing former friends who may have turned their backs during his legal drama — and many believe he’s taking direct shots at ex-labelmate Gunna.
“These f**k n****s tellin’ for nothin’, and I gotta be the one callin’ ’em friends,” he raps on the hook. He later doubles down with pointed bars like: “Brother, you a rat (My brother),” and “Twin, you a rat, you smoked, uh.”
With UY Scuti expected to drop any day now, fans are bracing for what could be another King Slime classic — and if the rollout’s any sign, it’s bound to be wild.
