One would think that one of the topics that Drake will address on the forthcoming project is his 2024 feud with Kendrick Lamar. Especially because he is currently in litigation with Universal Music Group over the promotion of Lamar’s song Not Like Us.
Several songs were exchanged in the heat of battle. However, Not Like Us, has been the song that has proven to have the most lasting impact. But unfortunately for Drake, the success of the song came at the expense of his demise. Several disparaging remarks were made about him in the song. Most notably, his being an alleged ped*****e and questions over an inappropriate relationship with actress Millie Bobbie Brown.
Although the lyrics were meant to be satire, Drake is painting it as slander on Kendrick’s part, admitting it as evidence in the case.
Amid his lawsuit against UMG, several industry tastemakers have condemned him for such an act. It will be interesting to see who and what he addresses on this upcoming album.
