Clipse shook up the streets with the release of their latest album, Let God Sort Em Out, which dropped earlier this summer. And as good as the reviews of their album have been, the rollout was even better. And that is thanks in large part to Pusha T.
Pusha T Says There’s No Chance at Reconciliation With Ye
King Push didn’t pull any punches during Clipse’s rollout. He aimed at several people, including Drake and Travis Scott. But perhaps the most surprising out of all of Pusha T’s targets was his former G.O.O.D. music boss, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. And amid his beef with the Yeezy founder, Pusha says not to expect a reconciliation any time soon — or ever.
“Yeah, that’s in the past. That’s definitely in the past,” he said in an Interview with The Guardian on August 7. “If I diss someone, it’s a very real thing to me. I watch other rappers use disses as a gimmick and shit like that, but that ain’t what this is for me.”
However, even though Ye and Pusha are no longer on speaking terms, he says that the art they created together in the past is something that will live on forever.
“Just as a rap aficionado, well, being there was special!” Pusha recalled. “Creating So Appalled and New God Flow were some of my favorite memories. The Good Friday series was crazy, too. The albums I dropped during that time, like Daytona and It’s Almost Dry, are very, very strong offerings. And Ye made great things together.”
Let God Sort ‘Em Out was Clipse’s first album in over a decade. Needless to say, the project was highly anticipated. And the numbers spoke to that. The rap duo sold 118,000 equivalent album units in its first week, and reached a peak of number two overall on the Billboard Hot 100.
