A federal judge has ordered Atlanta rapper Ca$h Out to pay $40 million to a sex trafficking victim following a default judgment issued in January 2026.
The judgment stems from a civil lawsuit filed in 2022, which Ca$h Out failed to respond to. According to court records, the award includes $10 million in compensatory damages and $30 million in punitive damages, tied to allegations of abuse that reportedly occurred between 2013 and 2015.
The civil ruling is closely connected to Ca$h Out’s criminal conviction under Georgia’s RICO statute, a case that resulted in him being sentenced to life in prison plus 70 years. Prosecutors previously argued that the rapper led a trafficking operation involving multiple victims, with the civil case reinforcing many of the same allegations outlined during the criminal proceedings.
The $40 million judgment ranks among the largest civil awards ever tied to a hip-hop artist, underscoring the severity of the findings. However, legal experts note that collecting the money may prove difficult, given Ca$h Out’s incarceration and limited financial prospects while serving his sentence.
Still, the ruling represents a major legal and symbolic victory for the victim, highlighting the growing willingness of courts to impose significant financial penalties alongside criminal punishment in high-profile trafficking cases.
