Freddie Gibbs continues on his quest to shame AI in Hip Hop. The Gary, Indiana rapper shared a portion of DMs with Cleveland rapper King Chip where they discussed the issue.
What Did Freddie Gibbs Say About AI In Rap?
Gibbs posted on his story the exchange with King Chip.
“These n***** using AI to write their raps smh,” King Chip replied to Gibbs note.
Gibbs replied with “facts” and several laughing emojis. Gibbs then screenshotted the exchange and added more context to his thoughts.
““I was in the studio when n***** was using A.I,” Gibbs posted. “I almost threw up.”
This continues Gibbs condemnation of AI, which he’s been vocal many times has no place in Hip Hop.
During an appearance on The Ryen Russillo Podcast, Gibbs made it clear he doesn’t want rappers using ChatGPT to write their bars.
“Look at AI rap now, man,” Gibbs said. “I don’t even believe if you even really make it anymore… I done been in studios with m*********, and m********* is ChatGPTing s***, and I’m like, ‘What in the f***?’ Like damn, how long am I gonna be able to do this s***? Cause I’m actually making fresh s***.”
Gibbs continued to say AI feels like an existential threat to the integrity of rap music. “Art is dying,” he argued. “When you got to ask a computer to write your lyrics, s*** is wack.”

What Else Has Freddie Gibbs Been Up To?
The Pinata rapper also made headlines last week after rumors circulated he would be featured in the long-anticipated GTA 6.
During an interview with Midas from PC Gamer, industry insider and talent HipHopGamer teased Gibbs inclusion with a major hint.
“There’s a special side mission with a major rapper that left CM Punk bloody by accident,” HipHopGamer said.
His hint likely refers to when Gibbs accidentally injured WWE/AEW superstar CM Punk on the set of their 2025 vampire horror film Night Patrol. Gibbs recalled the incident in detail.
“I thought CM Punk was mad at me for real, for an hour,” Gibbs said. “I was walking around that m********* for a while like, ‘this might be a real fight in this m********* with a wrestler. I’m not going to win this shit. When we did the scene when I had to shoot him when he was trying to get in the apartment, I had the gun, and I swung that shit up, and it cut his hand for real.”
Gibbs also recently posted a story posing at a table with three men, presumably affiliated with Rockstar Games, tagging the company.
