Meek Mill says going independent hasn’t slowed him down one bit, despite outside forces’ best attempts.

In a string of posts on X this week, the rapper claimed he’s made $80 million from rap since his infamous feud with Drake—but later clarified that the money wasn’t because of the battle itself. According to Meek, the real turning point came after prison, when he returned with what he considers the strongest work of his career.

“Not because of the beef,” he wrote. “I went to prison, had the biggest movement and came home and made the best album of my life.”

He also pushed back against recent comments from Charlamagne Tha God, who said on The Brilliant Idiots that Meek’s career never fully recovered from the Drake fallout. Meek has publicly disputed that narrative, pointing instead to sold-out arenas and long-term financial success as proof his brand is intact.

Meek went on to allege that industry players have worked behind the scenes to suppress his momentum—claiming his streaming numbers dropped by 60% after recent releases and suggesting a label may have discouraged people from playing his music or booking him for shows.

He didn’t provide evidence or name any specific company, but framed the situation as part of a broader struggle against industry politics. At the same time, he emphasized that his live draw remains strong, citing sold-out shows at Barclays Center and Madison Square Garden.

The claims arrive as Meek continues rollout for his latest single, 600 Racks, released earlier this month as the lead-up to his next album.
