On Tuesday (May 5), NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs was found not guilty in his assault and strangulation case.
Of course, after the verdict was announced, rapper Cam’ron had to respond on his sports talk show, It It What It Is, on Wednesday (May 6). And Cam said that he was “happy” to see the former New England Patriots star get acquitted.
Cam’ron Celebrates Diggs’ Legal Victory
“Congrats, Stefon Diggs. I’m happy that you didn’t get indicted for this. Well, rather have to get found guilty of this shit because you obviously had footage and proof,” Cam said.
He later added, “My bad, City Girls, if y’all felt like y’all got played in the scenario. But I don’t know too much about it,” Cam’ron said. “So, I just ended with City Boys up 200 ‘cause he won the case, and I saw a girl twerking after this was supposed to have happened.”
Diggs was facing felony charges after he was accused on getting into a physical altercation with Jamila Adams. A woman with whom he was romantically involved and later employed as his personal chef. She also had her own room at Diggs’ residence. Back in December, Adams claims that she approached Diggs about a pay discrepancy. And accused the NFL star of getting upset and slapping her across the face. And said he “tried to choke her using the crook of his elbow around her neck.”
After being acquitted of the charges, Diggs’ lawyer, Mitchell Schuster, doubled down on Diggs’ innocence. And blasted Adams for trying to use a false domestic violence claim for personal gain.
“Domestic violence is a very, very serious issue in this country, and it’s disconcerting when people use it as a sword and manufacture claims in an attempt to extract money,” Schuster told reporters after the verdict.
“I believe the jury saw through that today, and we are very, very pleased with this result.”
Diggs has yet to speak out following the verdict.
