Drake has ruffled plenty of feathers with the release of his new album Iceman. However, at least one rapper isn’t mad because of a diss, it’s because he believes Drake stole from him.
Who Did Drake Allegedly Copy On Iceman?
Notable rapper 1900 Rugrat is upset with Drake, calling him out on social media. In a short video he uploaded to TikTok, Rugrat said he and the iceman were talking about working together, but it didn’t come to fruition. Then, when Iceman dropped, the song “Little Birdie,” sounded awfully familiar to him.
“Drake, you got me f***** up bro,” Rugrat said. “When I made the intro to my first album a year and a half ago, Drake was hitting me up at the time and wanted to hear music. So i sent 10 songs to him, but they was all finna be on my album. I didn’t want nobody to steal my s***. The one they took a liking to was the intro. I said ‘no you can’t have that song.’ He wanted me on his album still. He said ‘I’mma send you a verse.’ He never sent a verse. I didn’t give a f***, until I just went and listened to Iceman. I listened to “Little Birdie,” and I went back and listened to the intro of my first album. Twin, that’s the only beat I sat down and produced, don’t rip my s*** and repitch it like that. That’s fried. That’s fried and f***** up twin.”
Rugrat then added more evidence to his story by dropping Instagram DM screenshots with Drake. In the messages, Drake sends praise to Rugrat and specifically mentions he loves the intro. However, he says that if Rugrat already using it for his album, then they’ll cook something else up.
October’s very own is not a stranger to accusations of biting styles. One of most notable examples was when “Hotline Bling” sounded quite similar to DRAM’s “Cha Cha,” which caused DRAM to call him out on twitter.
West Coast rapper, Rappin-4-Tay also called out the Toronto rapper when he said Drake copied a verse from him word for word for his verse on YG’s “Who Do You Love.” For that instance, Drake actually had to settle the dispute, paying the rapper $100,000.

Is Drake Facing Other Criticism For Iceman?
Fans have voiced criticism of Drizzy for using Mac Dre’s classic “Too Hard For The F***** Radio” to diss west coast people. Although Drake has shown Mac Dre love before, shouting him out on “Motto,” fans on X voiced their disappointment.
“No its because ‘Too Hard for the F***in Radio’ exists already and he re-used lyrics from Mac Dre,” one user posted. “There’s also this sentiment that if NLU didn’t do what it did would he be randomly been ‘paying homage’? Plus he LIVES for the radio lol.”
“I’m annoyed that when you look up ‘Too Hard for the Radio,’ it’s Drake that comes up and not Mac Dre,” another user posted.
Drake has yet to respond to 1900 Rugrat’s accusations.
