Drakeo the Ruler was murdered in December 2021 after being fatally stabbed during a backstage altercation. Drakeo was scheduled to perfrom at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. music festival at Exposition Park, where he was scheduled to perform.
YG and Drakeo had a highly publicized rap beef during the height of the blog era. So following his death, several of Drakeo’s associates came out and suggested that the Bompton rapper was involved in his fatal stabbing. However, this past June, YG dropped a new track titled We Know The Truth. A track where he denies any involvement in Drakeo’s murder.
YG is also scheduled to participate in a Verzuz matchup against The Game on Thursday night. Now that he has been released from custody, it does not appear that it will have any effect on the event going on as scheduled.
