Jae’Won made it clear that he prefers Biggie’s sophomore album, Life After Death, over his legendary 1994 debut, Ready to Die.
“I hate the first album,” Jae’Won stated, describing the project as sounding like gritty Brooklyn street rap that didn’t particularly appeal to him.
His comments challenge the widespread praise for Ready to Die, which many Hip-Hop fans and critics consider one of the greatest debut albums in rap history. Meanwhile, Life After Death, released in 1997, showcased Biggie’s versatility with a broader range of production, storytelling, and crossover records.
While both albums are regarded as Hip-Hop classics, Jae’Won’s remarks reignite a debate that has existed for decades.
