Jeezy is stepping into a new industry: telecommunications. Jeezy said late last week he joined with Freddie Figgers, the founder of Figgers Communications, on a cell phone brand and other wireless products that aim to “rival current competitor standards, but at a much more attainable price point.” Terms of the investment deal were not released.
The F3 cell phone and F-Buds earpods are the first products to be released under the new partnership.
“There was a point in my life where I wasn’t able to pay the phone bill,” Jeezy (born Jay Wayne Jenkins) said in a news release. “Now as a businessman and entrepreneur to be able to partner with Freddie [Figgers], someone who overcame similar life obstacles, and to give people more access to handheld technology at an affordable price, it’s a truly blessing.”
Specs for the F3 include being 5G-ready with a 4K display and 18 megapixel dual cameras, as well as the ability for multiple user profiles to in a single phone. It’s also made with shatter-resistant glass and is water resistant. Retail is $449.
The $49 F-Buds pair with any Bluetooth device, model phone and tablet, but with the Figgers phones let the user translate over 100 languages to the language of choice, according to the release.
