Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this month—solidifying more than three decades of influence in hip-hop and culture.
The ceremony, which takes play July 8 on Hollywood Boulevard, will be emceed by radio personality Big Boy, with rapper Xzibit set to appear as a guest speaker.
“Receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a blessing beyond words,” the group said. “Coming from Cleveland, we never imagined the music we created would touch so many lives around the world… this honor belongs to our families, our city, our fans, and everyone who believed in us.”
Formed originally as Bone Enterpri$e, the group was discovered by Eazy-E and signed to Ruthless Records in 1993. They broke through with their 1994 EP Creepin on ah Come Up, followed by classics like E. 1999 Eternal and The Art of War.
Known for hits like “Thuggish Ruggish Bone,” “1st of tha Month,” and “Tha Crossroads”—which earned them a Grammy in 1997 as a tribute to Eazy-E—the group helped define melodic Midwest rap and remains one of hip-hop’s most influential collectives.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are also gearing up to return to the road, with a new tour launching July 10.
