Drake has several successful businesses and brands. But none come close to what he has created with his brand, October’s Very Own.
Drake Reportedly Set to Sell Half of OVO
Not only has OVO become a successful music label, but it has also extended to apparel. And Drake is reportedly gearing up to sell a 50% stake in the company.
According to a report from JustFreshKicks on X, Drake is looking to sell half of the company to Authentic Brands Group. The group is behind the licensing for several other apparel powerhouses, such as Reebok, Champion, Forever 21, and Sports Illustrated. And on the music side, Authentic holds the rights to public figures such as Elvin Presley and Marilyn Monroe.

After the report hit social media, fans had plenty to say about the upcoming sale.
“You can’t tell me this man ain’t highly intelligent,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Interesting, wonder how @Nike feels about that,” a second user asked.
“OVO merch at your local Walmart soon,” a third user chimed in.
One thing about Drizzy is that he always makes calculated business moves. In May, everyone was expecting him to only drop his ninth studio album, Iceman. However, he dropped two additional albums, Maid of Honour and Habibti.
The move surprised everyone. But it was calculated, as reports have begun to circulate, that after dropping the trifecta of new projects, he has officially satisfied his obligations to Universal Music Group (UMG). The same label he is currently in litigation with over the distribution of Kendrick’s Not Like Us.
With Drake apparently being the hottest free agent in the music industry right now, the sale of OVO could be part of an even bigger plan.
