Isaiah Rashad is ready to tell all as he promotes his new album ‘It’s Been Awful.’ Tuesday (May 5th) Rashad spoke with the Breakfast Club about several topics, including his leaked sex tape.
What Did Rashad Say About The Controversy?
Isaiah Rashad opened up about his hiatus and how the leak affected his mental health.
“I went through some shit to an extent, but it was, you know… between being an artist and the expectations of that, and I guess the deconstruction of my masculinity, it’s been a lot of getting to know myself,” he told The Breakfast Club. “I was already dealing with my own stuff before. I’m blessed to how everything happened with me,” he continued. “And the reception of everything. Because it allowed me to really step back and re-examine what I was doing. ‘Cause regardless of how much I love myself, I still put myself in an irresponsible situation for anyone to control my narrative.”
Isaiah Rashad continued by saying the experience taught him a lot.
“At some point, I’ve accepted that they don’t make a manual for being a bisexual Black men or any of that type of shit,” Rashad said. “It was less hiding myself from anything, and more so not knowing how to not be ostracized.”
Isaiah Rashad ended by saying his fans were extremely supportive and he appreciated them.
The controversy stems from a leaked 2022 sex tape involving Rashad and another man, which ended up on the internet without his knowledge.

How Are People Feeling About His Album ‘It’s Been Awful’?
Fans have come out in droves supporting Rashad’s new album, with some calling it the front runner or album of the year.
“10/10 masterpiece AOTY I don’t see another album topping this tbh, not a single skip,” one user posted. “No glaze though.”
