When it comes to the rap game, New York has produced some of the top talents to ever touch a microphone. From legendary talents like Jay-Z to modern acts like Jim Jones, New York is always relevant on the hip-hop scene.
Max B’s Comments on His Ranking Among NY Rappers Go Viral
New York Artists French Montana and Max B recently appeared on Wallo and Gillie The Kid’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. And Max had some interesting things to say about where he ranks among New York rappers all-time.
And the Wave God believes that he belongs on the Mount Rushmore of New York artists. Right after Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, and Nas.
“Look, after Big, Jay, and Nas, you can put me on that m*********er right after that. [That’s how] I feel about it after that. I can prove it. After them, you can’t really…put ’em up,” Max said.
Biggavel also added context to his statement. And noted that the “creativity” of his catalog alone puts him among the all-timers.
“When it comes to creativity, or just consistent songwriting, I just don’t think anybody has the catalog to match me,” he added. “Look at my catalog! Look at my tapes, look at my domains, look at the Coke Wave!”
Of course, Max’s comments sparked a major debate on social media.
“He is not even bigger than CAMRON,” one fan wrote in the comments section of the social media post.
“Dude’s only known for going to jail…no quote and quotables, no platinum album,” a second user chimed in.
Biggavel gained popularity during the blog era in the late 2000s. Songs like Always Be My B***h, Steak Sauce, and G’s Up went viral. And he and French Montana were undeniable as a mixtape duo.
However, his rise to superstardom was halted after he was convicted of felony murder and armed robbery charges in 2009. Related to a 2006 robbery in New Jersey that resulted in one person being killed.
He was released from prison in November 2025.
