NBA YoungBoy is still the king of YouTube. The viral rapper topped the YouTube streaming charts despite competition from a fellow king in another genre.
Who Tried To Take NBA YoungBoy Chart Position?
While YoungBoy has long been the most dominant artist on YouTube, the recent reinterest in a certain king of pop almost put his crown in jeopardy. Michael Jackson, the long-diseased icon of pop music, has seen a resurgence in his streaming numbers. He finished second to YoungBoy for most streamed artist on YouTube in the U.S. This stems from his new biopic, Michael, which has brought his music back in the popular consciousness.
The film has already grossed $500 Million globally at the box office, and is currently on track to surpass Bohemian Rapsody as the highest grossing music biopic of all time.
YoungBoy has previously been called by some the “Michael Jackson of his generation.” In an interview with Complex, even he couldn’t validate that claim.
“They overexaggerate about me sometimes,” YoungBoy said. “That’s going too far.”
YoungBoy previously paid tribute to MJ with his tribute song, “Dirty Iyanna.”

What’s The Latest With YoungBoy?
Fans were left bewildered and disappointed when rumors of YoungBoy pulling out of his headlining set at Rolling Loud came to fruition. On Thursday (May 7th), several Hip Hop pages reported that YoungBoy was bowing out of his set, with the man himself confirming the news on his Instagram.
“To my Rolling Loud family, I won’t be making it this time,” YoungBoy posted. “I just need some time away from traveling and performing right now. Love to everybody supporting me, I’ll forever appreciate y’all!”
Ken Carson will slide into the headliner spot instead. Carson was originally supposed to headline Rolling Loud Australia in March, before the festival canceled.
