Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug once lit up the iTunes streets as the iconic duo Rich Gang. However, Quan sadly passed away before Thug reached his plea deal for his RICO case. Now, Thug is reminiscing on his lost collaborator, but people from Quan’s team allegedly aren’t buying it.
What Did Rich Homie Quan’s Team Say?
Initially, On Young Thug’s Instagram story, he shared a reel with Quan singing to their classic Rich Gang track “Tell Em.” Posting over the reel, Thug wrote: “Never switched on u brada, always rode with u, what happened,” with a sad face tear emoji.
However, it appears Rich Homie Monta, Quan’s former manager, is not buying what Thug said. “Don’t ride for me then,” Monta posted. “Why we always wait, why. Pride and ego.”
It’s unclear if Monta is directly addressing Thug, but the use of the word “ride” which Thug emphasized, points to it being a possibility.
Thug and Quan also were not on good terms prior to his death, with Rich Gang’s split going down as a “what if” in Hip Hop history.
However, in one of his last interviews, Quan expressed interest in a reunion.
“We do have a lot of unreleased music,” Quan said. “But who knows what the future holds? First and foremost, it’s free Thugger. I’m willing to have a conversation, and it’ll start from there.”
At Thug’s Coachella set, he played their iconic anthem “Lifestyle,” paying homage to his former collaborator.

What Happened To Rich Gang?
The breakup of Rich Gang has long been disputed. Rumors have circulated about bruised egos, fights back stage, and jealousy getting in the way of their creative process.
But in a 2024 interview with interview with GQ, Thug gave some clarity about the breakup.
“I think we just grew and became our own bosses and men,” Thug said. “We didn’t want to keep doing the Rich Gang albums. We were getting bigger, so it’s like, I wanted to do my own s***.”
Thug has not responded to the post, but if the estate don’t rock with Thug, then it’s likely we’ll never get the unreleased Rich Gang music Quan teased before his passing.
