The artists of the Miami hip-hop scene are known to stick together. So it’s no surprise that Trick Daddy is standing ten toes when it comes to the recent criticisms of Yung Miami’s new record, Spend Dat.
Trick Daddy Goes Scorched Earth on India Arie
In a post shared by KollegeKidd on X, Trick appears to take shots at neo-soul artist India Arie. Because of her recent criticisms about Yung Miami’s new record.
Trick Daddy speaks on all of the negativity that has been spewed on Caresha’s record over the past few days. He also adds that most of the negative comments have been coming from older people. And shames them for “targeting a young black female who is doing something positive.”
He also says that there has been a mass of negative music that has come out before “Spend Dat” had even dropped. And questioned why there wasn’t the same level of public outrage towards those songs.
Trick goes on to say that parents should raise their own kids. And that music shouldn’t influence how they are raised. So if they allow music to “raise their kids,” that onus is on the parents.
He also insists that people who have criticized Yung Miami’s new record are “jealous” because of the song’s success. And suggests that the game has “passed [them] by.”

“Leave that young lady alone because if you see how pretty is, you don’t look like her. It’s giving hate. You ain’t shaped like her. You shaped like me.” pic.twitter.com/Ud3bZ9sTWk
In her initial statement about the record, Irie says that even though some people may just think of the song as just a song, just consuming it can have “influence” on listeners. And said that it is also proof that some people don’t want to be “free.”
At the time of writing, Yung Miami did not respond to Arie’s comments.
