Lance “Un” Rivera has finally responded after being name-dropped in Jay-Z’s freestyle at the Roots Picnic back in May.
Un Rivera Sends Strong Message to Jay-Z
In a recent sit-down with Art of Dialogue, Un says that he fell “victim” to being centered around one of Jay-Z’s marketing rollouts.
“I thought it was not one of the best bars that he’s had,” Rivera said. “Think what people need to understand is that most of Jay-Z’s intentions are purely based on marketing rollouts. I was part of the rollout for the products that are going out right now in the streets. So, I fell victim to that.”

Rivera caught a stray in Jay-Z’s freestyle in a shot that targeted Kanye West. During his set, he appeared to clap back at Kanye over the comments that he made about his twins, Sir and Rumi Carter. And referenced his 1999 incident, where he allegedly stabbed Rivera in the process.
“You ever heard of wonder-kin? My children are some of them. Have you n****s no shame? You really wanna get under my skin? I’ll really get under ya skin, ask Un how I’m playing,” he said.
Un goes on to say that if Jay is going to continue to use their 1999 incident to portray himself as “dangerous,” he would at least like to be paid for it.
“If you want to send the message to your brand and your partnerships that you’re dangerous… using me as an example of how dangerous you are just to sell products, then that’s up to him,” Rivera added. “I’m not against him making money… find another way to make you a tough guy, a bad guy. Stop using me to do it. Unless you’re going to pay me, send me a check. I’ll be a part of your marketing strategy.”
At the time of writing, Jay-Z has not responded to Un’s comments.
