Houston rap icon Michael 5000 Watts, co-founder of Swishahouse, has been hospitalized following a serious medical emergency.

According to reports, Watts underwent extensive emergency procedures and is currently sedated as he continues to heal. His condition has prompted an outpouring of support from fans and artists across the hip-hop community.

As a cornerstone of Houston rap, Watts played a pivotal role in elevating chopped-and-screwed culture to a national audience. Through Swishahouse, he helped launch and amplify the careers of artists like Paul Wall, Slim Thug, and Mike Jones, leaving a lasting imprint on Southern hip-hop.

Watts’ family has since released a statement addressing his condition and thanking supporters for their prayers and well wishes.
