R. Kelly survivor Reshona Landfair, who was publicly known for more than 20 years as Jane Doe following the infamous R. Kelly sex tape that circulated in the early 2000s, has stepped forward in an exclusive interview with CBS.
Now 41 years old, Landfair opens up about how liberating it feels to finally shed the Jane Doe identity and live fully in her own skin as her true self. Growing up in Chicago, she dreamed of becoming a star and was a child rapper raised in a musical family, believing her talent could open doors to a better future.
In the interview, Landfair recalls how her aunt, Sparkle, introduced her to R. Kelly and encouraged her to ask Kelly to be her godfather. As time went on, Sparkle began to sense that something wasn’t right and ultimately contacted social services.
Today, Landfair says reclaiming her name and telling her story publicly has been a powerful step toward healing and freedom. Check out the full interview below.
