Gunna is taking legal action against concert promoters after claiming he was never paid for a high-profile performance during X Games weekend in Aspen, Colorado.
According to reports, Gunna’s touring company has filed a lawsuit seeking more than $750,000 in damages, alleging fraud and breach of contract. The suit stems from a January 2026 performance tied to the X Games, where Gunna was reportedly guaranteed a $500,000 fee that was never paid.
Lawsuit Details
The complaint, filed on March 17, 2026, names Mickle and Mickle Productions along with Stars in Action as defendants. Gunna’s team accuses the promoters of orchestrating a “coordinated scheme” to avoid payment, claiming they repeatedly offered excuses instead of fulfilling their financial obligations.
Among the more unusual claims in the lawsuit, the promoters allegedly said funds were tied up in “gold commodities” and even suggested alternative payment sources, including money connected to a major alcohol brand and the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
The lawsuit is seeking $750,000 total—covering the original $500,000 performance fee plus additional penalties tied to the alleged breach.
X Games Not Implicated
While the performance took place during X Games weekend, the event itself is not named in the lawsuit and is not accused of any wrongdoing.
Aspen Appearance
Despite the alleged payment issues, Gunna appeared to make the most of his time in Aspen. He was spotted enjoying the winter setting, including hitting the slopes and snowboarding alongside Olympic medalist Mark McMorris.
The case adds another layer to ongoing conversations around artist payments and promoter accountability, especially for major event bookings tied to high-visibility platforms.
