Ye has finally put one of his latest legal battles to bed.
According to Billboard, the Grammy-winning artist has reached a settlement with Vanda Watkins (Criminal Manne), Hayward Ivy (DJ Squeeky), and Robert L. Johnson Jr. (Kilo G), who accused him of illegally sampling their track Drink a Yak (Part 2) on “Fuk Sumn” from Vultures 1 with Ty Dolla $ign.
Reports say Ye’s team did attempt to clear the sample, but negotiations fell through before things escalated to court. The artists later filed suit, claiming it was their only option after multiple failed attempts to resolve things privately.
Now, both sides have confirmed they’ve reached a settlement in principle, officially closing the case. The details? Still under wraps.
The timing is interesting — the settlement comes just days before Ye is expected to drop his twelfth studio album, BULLY. He’s been teasing the project for months, even rolling out billboards in Los Angeles pointing to a March 27, 2026 release date.
Of course, if it’s Ye… nothing is ever set in stone.
