Rap star Offset was shot outside of a casino over a gambling dispute earlier this month. And now that he is home recovering, his mother, Latabia Woodward, is speaking out.
Offset’s Mother Speaks Out After Casino Shooting
In a video clip caught by Zamnzapitalism on X, she noted that she is not usually the type of person who talks about her son on social media. But the circumstances that have come as a result of this latest situation are something she has to address. And calls Offset surviving the shooting a miracle.
“I don’t typically address things about my son on social media. I learned a long time ago that facts rarely survive the internet, and I refuse to feed that machine… But today, I have to speak,” she says in the video.
“Six days ago, my son was shot. Four days later, he was released from the hospital. Last night, he was on a stage doing what he loves to do. He is a miracle walking,” Latabia added. “That is God’s grace, that is God’s mercy.”
She also thanks everyone who has reached out or sent well wishes to her and the former Migos star after the shooting.
“To every person who reached out, prayed, called, texted, or sent a message, thank you. If I haven’t responded to you directly, please know it was not intentional. Your kindness meant everything to me. We love Kiari, we love all of you,” she concluded.

Casino Incident Explained
Offset was involved in an altercation with rap star Lil Tjay outside of Hard Rock Casino in Florida earlier this month. Police say they have video footage of Tjay directing a group of his associates to blitz Offset. They also say that during the melee, one of the members of Lil Tjay’s crew pulled out a gun and shot Offset, leaving him hospitalized.
Tjay was not directly arrested for any connection to the shooting. But he was arrested for a traffic violation and disorderly conduct on a $3,000 bond. At the time of writing, nobody has been charged with the shooting.
