Hip-Hop icon Snoop Dogg is bringing his life story to the big screen, officially announcing that a biopic centered on his journey will hit theaters in 2027.
The legendary rapper revealed the news during CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where he told attendees, “After my brothers told their story in Straight Out of Compton, it’s my turn.” The upcoming film, titled Snoop, will star Jonathan Daviss in the lead role, portraying the West Coast legend.
Production is set to take place in Los Angeles, with acclaimed filmmaker Craig Brewer tapped to direct and veteran producer Brian Grazer on board to produce. Grazer is notably known for producing 8 Mile, the biopic based on Eminem.
During the presentation, Snoop entertained the crowd by performing snippets of his classic hits and promised fans a first look at the film soon. He also made it clear that the movie will stay true to his unfiltered story, joking that it will definitely carry an R rating.
With a powerhouse team behind it and Snoop’s larger-than-life story at the center, Snoop is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Hip-Hop biopics in recent years.
