Rap star Kodak Black has found himself back in prison, according to Orange County prison records.
In a Thursday (May 7) report from WESH2, the outlet says that the rapper was jailed on a drug trafficking charge. For trafficking MDMA.
Kodak Black Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charge
In a statement to TMZ, the rap star’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, says that Kodak’s arrest was a “coordinated surrender” which was tied to a November 2025 case where an officer “searched a vehicle with one passenger who was NOT Kodak.”
So how is Kodak involved? Apparently, during the search, officers found a bottle of prescription cough syrup that had Kodak’s fingerprint on it.
Cohen says that the case has a “weak legal basis,” and added that he and his client “look forward to yet another fruitful resolution to another case that should have never been filed.”
This is not Kodak Black’s first drug offense. Back in 2023, he was arrested in Broward County for cocaine possession as well as a charge of evidence tampering.
The previous year, the rap star was arrested for another drug charge. This time for trafficking oxycodone and possessing a controlled substance without a prescription.
Earlier this year, a concerning video of Kodak hit social media. During a recent concert, the rap star was seen spinning around in circles with an article of clothing covering his face while the track played in the background. Fans reportedly waited hours for him to hit the stage and demanded refunds after the performance.
After news of the rap star’s arrest went viral, fans had plenty to say about it on social media.
“Obviously, he’s been back on drugs; hopefully, he goes to jail and gets the help he needs there,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“His career might be over. He looks so strung out,” a second person said.
No word on whether the rapper will be released today.
