Rap star Kodak Black was recently arrested on drug trafficking charges. But his lawyer, Bradford Cohen, says that his client is being targeted by Florida police.
Kodak’s Lawyer Slams OPD Over Drug Charge
Cohen, who has also represented the likes of Pooh Shiesty, Lil Wayne, and Polo G, called the case against his client “legally insufficient.”
“They are trying to charge Mr. Kapri with items found in a car he doesn’t own, that he was not present in, and there are none of his fingerprints on anything,” he said in a statement via The Miami Herald.
“Cohen also called out the Orlando Police Department for arresting Kodak Black for a six-month-old case without having any new evidence.”
“There were eight other people at the scene. They chose to arrest Mr. Kapri after six months, with no new evidence. This appears to be a case of targeting because of who he is and his prior history.”
To bring things up to speed, the No Flockin rapper was jailed on drug trafficking charges earlier this month. The arrest stems from a November 2025 incident. They were able to connect Kodak to the crime after finding a pair of scissors that were seen in Black’s Instagram post a week prior. In addition to a prison ID with Kodak’s legal name, Bill Kapri.
The rapper appeared in court on Thursday and was released on a $75,000 bond. As part of his bond, Kodak black will be barred from visiting the scene of the incident, the Children’s Safety Village, and must refrain from contacting his co-defendants.
