Rap star Pooh Shiesty has finally entered his plea. After being arrested over kidnapping, extortion, and armed robbery charges in April.

Shiesty Pleads Not Guilty in Gucci Mane Kidnapping Case

According to a report from Bryan Boom Paul, the FDO rapper appeared in court on Friday (May 8). And pleaded not guilty to all five counts.

If you’re tardy to the party, Shiesty was arrested back in April. For his alleged role in an armed robbery back in January. The feds allege that Pooh Shiesty rounded up a group of eight other men. To confront Gucci Mane over a contract dispute. However, Gucci Mane believed it to be a meeting between him and Pooh. But instead, he was ambushed and forced to sign paperwork releasing the rapper from his record contract with 1017 Brick Squad.

The rapper is currently being held without bond in Texas’ Kaufman County Jail. As for a potential trial date, the rapper’s lawyer, Kent Schaffer, says they are still awaiting the scheduling order from the court. But expressed optimism about winning the case.

“We are awaiting a scheduling order from the court,” he said. “Although we have not seen all of the evidence in the case, it is apparent that it’s a highly defensible case and we’re hoping to have Lontrell back in the recording studio very soon.”

Schaffer replaces Shiesty’s previous lawyer, Bradford Cohen. After withdrawing from the case, Cohen said that his decision had nothing to do with his confidence that he could win. And he gave a vote of confidence to the attorneys who will be substituting for him. He also added that he feels that the government has a lot of “explaining” to do related to Shiesty’s arrest.

If convicted, Pooh Shiesty could spend the rest of his life in prison.
