Especially after the pair were rarely seen together during Super Bowl Weekend in February, after Cardi had been his number one supporter all season. One source confirmed that Cardi had “pulled away” from their relationship back in February due to trust issues.
“Cardi pulled away from the drama in February,” the source said. “She didn’t trust him and felt like things were going on behind her back. She wasn’t in a place emotionally to deal with fighting and tension.”
However, despite her being wary of things going on behind her back, the source says that Cardi had “never closed the door completely” on her relationship with the former New England Patriots star. And that he “He stepped it up a few weeks ago and showed her that he wants to make it work.”
