After the Knicks won the NBA Finals in Game 5 on Saturday Night, a viral clip of New York native Teyana Taylor went viral on social media.
Teyana Speaks Out After Viral Video of Her at The Finals
In the video, Teyana appears to try to get access to the court for the Knicks’ championship celebration. But is denied by two female security officers.
Fat Joe and Knicks star Karl Anthony Towns’ father, who were already on the court, looked to try to intervene. But to no avail, as both of the security guards stood firm on their decision not to let her onto the court, despite her celebrity status.
However, Teyan recently spoke out about the viral interaction at Frost Bank Arena. And says that the video doesn’t paint an accurate picture of what really happened.
“A few things here, I was minding my business on FaceTime. Then I started walking towards the proper entrance and was actually stopped by the first young lady that you see talking to me. Thennnn Kat’s dad and a few others told me to come in right here, where they had seen me. Then the other lady came over. I think she was just a little overwhelmed, lol. A lot was happening. She was definitely overdoing her job, but at least she was doing it. Ans honestly EVERYBODY had a hard time getting onto the court at some point, I just wasn’t willing to rush or trample my way in,” she wrote on social media via MyMixtapez/X.

Teyana also said that she was eventually granted access to the celebration. It was just about her going through the appropriate entryway.
