Bobby Shmurda has not been able to see his father outside of the prison system since he was 2 months old. This week, Shmurda’s family got the greatest Father’s Day gift of all.
How Did Bobby & His Father Reunite?
Shmurda’s dad recently finished his 30 year prison sentence, leading to an emotional reconciliation with his son, Bobby. In the video Shmurda posted, he’s heard yelling in joy, grinning, taking in the moment. “Nah why my pops out,” Shmurda wrote.
Shmurda himself has dealt with his own legal issues, as during his breakout, he also ended up in jail. Shmurda was arrested and served over six years for assault and weapons charges. Infamously, his breakout song “Hot N****” went against him in his case due to the song resembling the alleged crimes.

What Has Bobby Shmurda Been Up To?
The Brooklyn rapper recently went scorched earth on JAY-Z and Roc Nation, accusing JAY’s lawyer Alex Spiro, of getting him locked up.
“Now listen up. Its not about how you say things it’s about what you’re saying. You’re not gonna tell me in a nice way you’re gonna r*** my family and take all my money right so wake up stupid,” Shmurda posted. “Now, this is a billionaire, 40 years old man at the time. I was a 19 year old less fortunate youth from the hood trying to make it out and this what they was doing. Now that I’m out of jail, after his lawyer put me in there, Alex Spyro, which is public. You can look it up. I told him I was forced. The judge said he didn’t care. He was sending me and all my friends upstate and we can get it on appeal.”
Shmurda then detailed further alleged misconduct.
Shmurda’s comments allege a few things. First, that JAY and Roc Nation signed him to a deal where he didn’t attain assets or make lasting wealth for his family. Next, he’s alleging Alex Spiro, a lawyer for Roc Nation, forced him to take the plea deal that led to his incarceration.
Later in the post, he accuses Roc Nation of blackballing him.
