Yung Miami’s new record Spend Dat has been heralded as the song of the summer. And during a recent show, Monica paid homage to Caresha’s new record.
Yung Miami Thanks Monica For Showing Love to ‘Spend Dat’
During a recent concert, Monica and her team performed a choreographed dance to Yung Miami’s hit record. With the rap star in attendance. And she thanks Monica for showing her love in a recent social media post,
“Ahhhh…. This is what an OG looks like!!!” Caresha captioned the social media post. “Thank you @monicadenise for hitting that sh-t one time and showing ya girl some LOVE. We can celebrate each other’s wins and just have a good time! This is sisterhood, this is black excellence!! 🤍🤍🕺🏽🕺🏽Thank you, Monica, you’ve truly always been a REAL ONE & stay embracing and pouring into the girls! A ICON, A LEGEND 🙏🏾🤍”
Fans in the comments section paid homage to Monica for celebrating Yung Miami’s record.
“Monica is always Big Dawg pressure! Love this cus she’s reppin for us,” one person wrote under the rapper’s Instagram post.
“Paying it forward! Mind over matter! No one is out stealing or scamming!” a second user chimed in.
“THIS is sisterhood! Celebrating each other’s wins & success! Everything else is just noise,” a third user chimed in.
Not everyone has been as receptive to the song where Yung Miami asks, “Where all my scammin’ a** n****s at. Neosoul artist India Arie recently sounded off on social media. And said that even though some people may just think of the song as just a song, just consuming it can have “influence” on listeners. And said that it is also proof that some people don’t want to be “free.”
Still, Yung Miami’s song continues to climb the charts. This week it crept into the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.
