DJ Khaled’s new release “Higher” featuring Nipsey and John Legend. This music video was filmed just days before his death, and it’s said to be Nipsey’s final performance captured on film.
Directed by Eif Rivera (50 Cent, French Montana, Lil Wayne), the clip opens with a tribute to Nipsey, who lost his life March 31th in a senseless murder outside his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles.
“Higher” is a homage to L.A. and Nipsey, with blue hues, also sees Legend behind a grand piano and the pair team up with DJ Khaled for a rooftop jam.
“A gift from my brother Nipsey Hussle! The Marathon continues,” DJ Khaled tweeted. “Long Live Nip!”
The closing credits read, “Rest in Paradise Ermias ‘Nipsey Hussle’ Asghedom,” above the Marathon logo.
“Higher” appears on DJ Khaled’s collab-filled new album Father of Asahd.
