Cam’ron may get into some beef, but when people do right by him, he gives them their flowers. On Tuesday (May 5th), Killa Cam made sure to show respect to Stephen A. Smith after he made good on his promise to get him on First Take.
What Did Cam’ron Say About First Take?
Killa Cam took to Instagram to show his gratitude.
“I want to thank @stephenasmith I really appreciate you bro,” Cam posted. “Thank you for the opportunity to come on your show @firsttake@espn and letting me sit in the whole 2hrs it means a lot. You always showed me love since we started @itiswhatitis_talk. You came on our show in the beginning stages and it helped us get to where we are now. I’m always here if needed.”
Cam’s first appearance featured some fun bits such as his lack of faith in the Knicks because they named streets after players during the eastern conference finals last year. His obligatory use of “pause,” while on the broadcast. And then his assertion that Lebron James would have more rings than Jordan in household if the Lakers win a title this year, referencing Bronny would win a ring, and how James is married and Jordan is divorced.
.@Mr_Camron says LeBron can pass MJ if he beats the Thunder en route to his "6th championship." 🤣 pic.twitter.com/KL8goIqQDT

Why Did It Take So Long For Cam To Get On First Take?
The lore behind Cam’s first appearance goes back over a year ago, when Cam was told by Smith he’d be on First Take soon. However, a few days after, Cam got booked by CNN to talk about the Diddy trial. But Cam didn’t seem to know what the deal was and gave a bewildered and hilariously raunchy interview.
Smith broke the news to him that he had to wait due to the interview being “a bad look.”
Since then, Cam’s become a premier voice on Hip Hop and sports, recently placing on Complex’s Hip Hop media list.
