In March of this year, Hollywood A-Lister Will Smith shocked everyone again. But this time it wasn’t for anything controversial. It was to drop his first album in 20 years. The project was entitled “Based on A True Story.”

Chris Rock’s Brother Goes Off on Will Smith
Many people were not that thrilled about Smith’s latest project. Notably, Chris Rock’s brother, Tony, is still not over Smith slapping his brother at the Oscar Awards in 2018.
When catching up with TMZ on April 14, Tony told the outlet that he had not heard any of Will’s new album. However, he still called it a “sh***y” project. He also ripped the album for flopping despite him addressing the slap.
Unfortunately for the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Star, Tony is right. The album was a flop. It sold only 268 copies in the UK and missed the Billboard 200 in the United States.
That slap ended up being one of the most viral moments in social media history. But unfortunately for the movie star, many of his cohorts were displeased with his actions. Most notably, Jim Carrey, said that Smith was “living beyond the bandwidth,” and believed that in that moment the “Fresh Prince” ultimately succumbed to pressure.
When asked about Carrey’s comments and others who have been particularly critical of him, Smith said he is just trying to live in his truth.
“There’s a small self that — the small concept of myself – can get to the end of his bandwidth. And then, if I back up, there’s like an infinite space, where my bandwidth is the bandwidth of life itself,” he added.
“It’s like trying not to get stuck in having to be only a narrow band of things, to give myself permission to be wider in the truth of who and what I actually am
