Jay Z’s Mother Gloria Carter Gives A Moving Speech At The 2018 GLAAD Media Awards

Gloria Carter was given the Special Recognition Award at the 2018 GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday evening (May 5) in New York City.

Carter was presented the award by Robin Roberts of Good Morning America . Ms. Carter delivered a powerful speech where she spoke about her son speaking on her coming out story on his “Smile” record, and what it meant to share that part of her life with her son.

Ms. Carter also told how falling in love allowed her to make her not so secret secret no longer a secret.
