Logic has solidified himself as one of the leaders of the next generations of emcees with this latest classic Everybody album. Yes Classic, 5 mics, XXL, 10 stars and whatever other rating system you can think of. All that was being said in the manner of a hot take analyst on ESPN. Let’s be honest Logic has come to a career high on this latest project Everybody. While Kendrick and J. Cole have dominated the list of Top Emcees from this generation, artist like Freddie Gibbs, Ab soul Locksmith, and King Los are in the underrated realm. Artist like Schoolboy Q, Dave East , K.R.I.T, Joey, and Logic seem to find themselves in this purgatory of rappers that everyone knows can rap, but will not deem them as deserving of being disused as in the upper elite.
Well, no longer for Logic. The topic of him taking other’s style, some have mentions from Kendrick to Machine Gunn Kelly, and every mixed to white rapper in between. There has been the topic of Logic not having the “IT” factor. The “IT”, code word for we can market him for his style of dress, hair , everything else but their talent. This is Hip-Hop people, and Talent is the “IT” factor, and he is promoting his music for being talented music not for swagger, not for trying to be a rock star but for being Hip Hop. Logic has always shown on every interview to be a student and follower of Rap at it’s purest form. Freestyling off the Top of the Dome and speaking on the art form of emceeing with his words and his flow. It is Time for his name to moved up to the upper Elite. The man is an Emcee!
When the album was initially announced with the name AfricanAryan I was anticipating him to finally really delve into the depth of his world and racism through the eyes of a black male who has strong Caucasian features, which causes many to view him as a white. With the change of the album title, the theme did not leave. Logic took this opportunity to make not just great music but also uplifting and positive music without sounding uneducated, immature, or like a corn ball.
For those that believe he is not “Real Hip-Hop”, there is no real rappers of today’s generation. Information: Chuck D and Black Thought are on the same track on this album. Again, BLACK THOUGHT AND CHUCK D ARE ON THE SAME TRACK ON THIS ALBUM. Killer Mike is on this album giving you spoken word, and Juicy j is on it without losing the album’s contentious theme. Everything is here, as Phonte from Little Brother Said “Dope Beats Dope rhymes what more do you want?!” Since Young Broke & Infamous, Young Sinatra, and Young Sinatra: Undeniable Young Sinatra: Welcome to forever To Under Pressure , The incredible True Story to Everybody, The consistency and yet also growth has defiantly Put Logic In the Upper Elite of Today.
