It appears Drake kept his decision to drop three albums on one night close to the vest. In an interview with Rolling Stone, one longtime Drake collaborator, who worked on around half the songs on Maid Of Honour, revealed the decision caught him by surprise.
What Producer Didn’t Know Drake Would Drop Three Albums?
During the interview, longtime Drake producer Gordo (formally known as Carnage) said the decision shocked even him.
“I knew it was going to be two albums,” Gordo said. “I didn’t know it was going to be three.”
Gordo continued, saying that he listened to all three albums when they dropped, normally, like every other fan.
He also said that Drake helped arrange and produce most of the songs across the three albums, which served as a switch up from how they usually work together.
Producer Gordo says Drake's 3-album drop took him by surprise and that he didn't even know know how "Hoe Phase" would sound before Drake spliced it together himselfhttps://t.co/AVTYmYNmuR

How Are People Feeling About The Albums?
Reaction to the Drake rollout has been split and mixed across the board. Many critics have not been kind, with Pitchfork giving Iceman a 4.8, and Anthony Fantano giving the album a 2/10. However, Pitchfork shocked fans today with their latest review, which gave Maid Of Honour an 8.0.
Fans reacted to the Drake scores.
“Pitchfork is an unserious publication,” one user posted.
“I legitimately haven’t heard anybody say Maid of Honour is better than Iceman,” another user posted. “Not a single soul. To act like it’s WAY better than Iceman is wild.”
“Everyone will hate but this is easily the most enjoyable listen of the 3,” another user posted.
Fans will wait for the likely reviews across the board of Habibti tomorrow.
