India Arie was especially critical of Yung Miami’s new hit record Spend Dat. And now her producer, J. White, has chosen a unique way to respond.
Yung Miami’s Producer Responds to Arie’s Criticism
J. White has helped produce some of the biggest hits in hip-hop over the years. Cardi B’s Bodak Yellow, Meg Thee Stallion’s Savage, and 21 Savage’s A Lot are just a few of the songs in his repertoire. So he knows what it takes to put out a hit record.
In a post to his social media account on Wednesday (July 1), J. White teases a remix of Yung Miami’s Spend Dat. And mashes up the song with Arie’s 2001 record Video.

J.White’s new mash-up appeared to be in response to Arie’s recent criticism of Spend Dat.
In a post shared by The Shade Room, India responds to a post that calls for a boycott of the song. Where Caresha asks, “Where all the scamming a** n****s at?” She says that even though some people may just think of the song as just a song, just consuming it can have “influence” on listeners.
“I spent my entire adult life caring way too much. I finally learned that not everybody Cares (with a capital C). And explaining it to them is not gonna make them care,” she said in response to the post. “Everything you listen to, see, or eat is going to influence you. So make wise choices ya’ll.”
Arie also said that the acceptance of the song is a sign of a “bigger problem.”
“The mass acceptance of this song itself is a [CRYSTAL] CLEAR sign of the bigger problem,” she continued. “I finally realized that not everybody wants to get free. And it was a very rude awakening.”
