Singer D4VD (born David Anthony Burke) could be in even deeper trouble than we expected following his arrest in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas.
Prosecutors Alleged D4VD Had CSAM on His Phone
According to a Thursday (April 23) report from TMZ, prosecutors allege that the singer had a “significant amount” of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on his phone when he was arrested. However, they did not clarify if Rivas was one of the victims on the Romantic Homicide singer’s phone.
They did, however, say that they had someone wear a wiretap as part of what they found in the evidence. But they did not reveal who wore the wire.
To bring things up to speed, Rivas’ body was found dismembered inside a Tesla registered to D4VD in September 2025. The vehicle was abandoned in Hollywood Hills, California, before being towed to a nearby impound lot. After receiving several reports of a strange smell coming from the vehicle, police were called and discovered Rivas’ decomposing body.
After months of investigation, Burke was arrested at his Hollywood Hills home in April.
On Monday (April 20), Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced that the singer was officially charged with. first-degree murder with special circumstances. And said that the charges “include the most serious charges that a DA’s office can bring.” If he is convicted, Burke could face the death penalty.
Prosecutors have alleged that D4VD killed Rivas with a “sharp object” for financial gain. His romantic relationship with Rivas, a minor, put his lucrative music career in jeopardy.
D4VD has not been given a trial start date yet.
