50 Cent Claims His New Show is ‘Better Than Power’
The rap star is preparing to release his newest show, Fightland, later this month. And he is already making bold predictions about the forthcoming project. In a post to his social media account on Wednesday (July 7), he said that Fightland is going to be better than his hit Starz series, Power.
“I hate to say it, but yeah, better than Power. Fightland UK vibes next level,” he wrote in a Wednesday Instagram post.
Fightland is an upcoming British boxing crime drama that is set to debut on Starz.
The story follows Maduka “Duke” Kilroy. A British boxing champion whose life is forever changed the night he achieves his lifelong dream of winning the world title. After his brother is tragically killed, Duke reacts furiously and is sentenced to eight years in a U.S. prison. After completing his sentence, Duke returns to London to seek revenge against the criminal empire of his former promoter and crime kingpin, Kingsley Marshall, whom he believes set him up.
There will be some familiar faces in the upcoming drama. Kingsley Marshall will be played by Nicholas Pinnock, who starred as Aaron Wallace in 50 Cent’s For Life, which aired from 2020 to 2021.
But Fightland will have a tough act to compete with when it comes to Power. The series has indeed withstood the test of time. The original show lasted six seasons. And has produced three spinoffs. Power Book II: Ghost, Raising Kanan, Power Book: Force, and Power Book: Origins.
