Travis Scott is known as a godfather of Rage music, but it appears he let his anger get the best of him. On Wednesday, court documents surfaced for a civil lawsuit that names Scott, and doesn’t paint him in a good light.
What Did Travis Scott Allegedly Do?
The incident stems from Scott’s 2024 Miami arrest, where he was detained by police after an altercation on a yacht he rented. However, the alleged details are much more damning.
According to a lawsuit from a Miami Marina staff and yacht crew, Scott rented a yacht and demanded to use the jet ski. However, due to his extreme level of intoxication, the captain refused to release them.
Scott then ordered the boat to dock at a marina and left for some time. When he returned, he allegedly assaulted the captain, made death threats, and refused to back down when his own security tried to calm the situation.
In fact, he reportedly fired one of his bodyguards for stepping in. After this, the crew tried to de-escalate the situation, which upset Scott further. He then assaulted some of them, including a woman who he struck into a table. He also blocked them from leaving the boat as he assaulted them.
Police eventually intervened, leading to Scott’s arrest. However, he was able to get charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing dropped.
The yacht crew is suing Scott in civil court, claiming battery, assault, and false imprisonment, among other claims.
Scott has not responded to the allegations.

Travis Scott & A History Of Violence
This isn’t Scott’s first issue with endangering public safety. His Astroworld festival disaster, where a crowd crush led to the deaths of ten people, including young children.
The tragedy stemmed from the venue not being big enough to fit the number of people at the show, the security staff getting overpowered by fans who snuck into the show, and Travis Scott himself, who allowed the show to continue for several minutes, despite people in the audience needing medical attention.
He has since apologized for the tragedy.
Travis Scott did not face criminal charges for his involvement, and neither did Live Nation. However, Scott and Live Nation settled all 10 wrongful death lawsuits in civil court.
