Miley Cyrus announces that she will reunite with Mike Will Made-It for her next project.
Back in May of 2017 Miley Cyrus shunned Hip-Hop because she felt that the genre oversexualizes women.
During an interview with 95.5 PLJ Mylie said she will enlist production assists from Mike Will as well as hitmaker Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow for the album.
“A song that [Ronson] and I have done together is more rock driven, modern Debbie Harry or Joan Jett,” she said (via Billboard). “Then we’ve got songs with Mike Will that lean more hip-hop and songs with Andrew Wyatt that lean more pop/alternative. I just have kind of everything.”
Miley worked with Mike Will on her 2013 album Banger for herhit single, “23.” During a 2017 Billboard interview, when asked why she distanced herself from hip-hop, Miley attributed it to the misogynistic lyrics found in the genre. But she likes Kendrick Lamar, though.
[I love] that new Kendrick [Lamar] song [“Humble”]: ‘Show me somethin’ natural like ass with some stretch marks,'” she explained. “I love that because it’s not ‘Come sit on my dick, suck on my cock.’ I can’t listen to that anymore. That’s what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little. It was too much ‘Lamborghini, got my Rolex, got a girl on my cock’—I am so not that.”
